The 25th.

Our 25th mth fell on a lovely date – 090909

But sadly, I had tuition in the aftnn and Pops had diving lesson that night, so we couldn’t celebrate on the actual day itself…

Maybe because of that, we kinda over-compensated and made it a 3-day feasting event

DAY 1: Liang Court – Saizeriya

We went for our little Tues-post-religion-tut dat as usual and dis time it’s bk at our fav cheap-&-gd Jap-western restaurant!

No matter how tired we are, food always makes us high…

Broccoli was overcooked But the rest were good!

And the service – AWESOME

We went to Mediya to shop… and saw alot interesting things…

Then I fell aslp in the car on our way bk coz lunch was too heavy zzz…

DAY 2: Mr Bean

On Thurs, we cooped ourselves up in IRC and slogged on our term paper till IRC closes b4 we went for late dinner.

We were supposed to go for Swensen’s icecream buffet in the aftnn, but both of us thot we had too much to do, so we’re leaving that till recess week.

Then we thot of gng to Dempsy for B&J… But we haven’t had a proper dinner…

So I suggested Bean instead.

Coz that place held a special meaning for us Our sweet beginning (that’s wad he likes to call it) more than 2 yrs ago…

Nth ever changes there… still so many cars, so diff to find lot, so cozy, same food, same old brownie

And we made it JUST in time for their set dinner (yeah!)

Initially I was quite turned off by the heap of sauce on the fish.

But it turned out really nice! Coz the fish is really nicely grilled with the right tinge of crispiness

DAY 3: Thai Express @ West Coast

Lunchie lunch on a fri aftnn is rare coz I usu have tuition in the aftnn…

Since it was raining, we decided to have it at WCP coz it’s near and we’ll be fully sheltered

Just to prove that Pops is a greater camwhore than me.

He has 4. I only have 2.

I have to STOP eating curry soft-shell crab everytime I go there…

I made poppy try my fav BIG tee w Hoodie at NIKE

Although the sweatpants made him look a little too comfy

But check out the shoes man! It has a super cool dog-tag on it as well.

I like leh!

And then we went back to sch to cont on the never-ending term paper -_-

We’re on a HIGH~

Celebrated our 20th on board the Flyer

Dar wanted to bring me to the Flyer on several occasions but I turned down coz I didn’t think it was worth the money.

But just in time for our 20th, we managed to get super-subsidised Flyer tix from NUSSU!! Little perk to make this trip even more lovely

Met up late in the aftnn and reached the Flyer b4 any evening crowd

Excited, excited~ Rush rush rush (coz we saw a BIG family coming behind us!)

Off we go~~~~

We managed to get the whole cabin to ourselves and set up Dar’s canon baby on the tripod

(This is the reason why Dar wanted to get his cam so soon)

The sky was clear and lovely and we managed to get a great view of Sg atop 40 stories

That was my fav view of Sg. I call it the “Sg Postcard View” haha

It was really nice to see all the places that are so meaningful to us… Esplanade, our secret ‘marina park’, Keppler’s Bay, the highway we take to go to sch…

C5 (doesn’t it sounds vaguely like Z5?!)

And the ride ended with a model of the future Marina IR… Doesn’t it look like the real thing with the other buildings as ‘backgrd’??

Although the ride felt super fast, we were alrdy hungry by the time we got down…

And aft dat, we went for our relaxing post-meal exercise: SHOPPING :p

We had simple valentine’s today, our 2nd one tgt

We noe how both of us are desperately lack of sleep, so we decided to sleep in and meet up later in the aftnn.

The ding ding showed up at my “doorsteps” ard 1+ with a lovely bouquet

It’s really lovely and I really love it!

Now I can throw away my 1-yr collection of dried flowers (which has been receiving alot of complaints) and replace them with a new one!!

We went to his house and spent the day bumming with Boy Boy wiggling ard our feet

And we had porridge with LUNCHEON MEAT!!

U have no idea how big a fan I am of luncheon meat. I can finish a can by myself The nicer brand of coz.

And I gave him his vday prezzie…

THIS – I spent a few days running ard a few shopping centres, asking alot of CD shops and only manage to find the Highlights of the recent musical. Thanks to XM for helping me keep a look out as well

In most of the shops, the OCR of the recent musical has alrdy been sold out. Even soundtrack from the movie are pretty rare finds. Glad I’m still able to get this…

Even got out of the house for dinner, the only activity we planned for the day.

We parked at Esplanade and took our long walk down to dinner plc

Ta-dang!! Popeye!!

But the place was SUPER crowded…

And Dar had to queue ard 2o mins b4 we got our food -_-

We were terribly bloated aft dat.

We have to stay off Popeye for a little while…

Then we embarked on the SLOW walk back to Esplanade whr we spend the rest of the night, walking along the bay and listening to love songs by a band at the Waterfront…

**We met 3 other couples that we noe at esplanade… 1 is a couple from sch, 1 is a couple that just got tgt, 1 is a couple that we see every week but dunno that they’re tgt!!**

The day has been simple – lunch at home, lazing ard with Boy Boy, dinner at Popeye’s…

And also romantic – flowers, Esplanade, sweet love songs…

And us, tgt

Spent a day at Dar’s hs aft lunch, watching program aft program on Travel & Living, planning for Aussie trip, reading mags, watching Poppy fall aslp at Rocher’s house, watch #8 dramas, and watched Dead Poets Society tgt

One whole day of R&R with each other’s company

Gng for Blast class now… I’m looking forward to the Milk Tea outing ltr~!!

Advanced celebration for our 15th monthsary coz the actual day lies on a Sunday, and I have UU test on Monday…

Went for an interesting little place for dinner

A quaint little cafe tucked in Purvis Street, opposite the National Library.

The place has a simple yet attractive old-school vibe to it…

Simple, canteen-style furnishing and all their menus were either written in chalk over blackboard or with coloured pens on pcs of paper.

This place may seem small in size, but it has a really great cause.

To make the world a better place

One thing abt this place… it’s really a cafe, so don’t expect alot of real food…

They have sandwiches, soups, salads, DESSERTS, drinks and pasta.

While the mains depend pretty much on the “special” that day.

Which happened to be “Roasted Chicken Leg” and “Baby Pork Rib” that day.

With the help and recommendations of the uber friendly staff, we finally ordered our food.

** Spotted the 2 piggy banks?? They are for collecting donations to build a well in Timor Leste!

The chicken leg is really nice!!

Crispy skin with a tinge of fat and succulent meat… Yum!!

The mushroom soup is damn overwhelming… very very fragrant…

The sandwich was… ok, not bad

A little upclose on the “innards” of my sandwich…

Actually the main reason for going their was for their special “home-made” dessert…

Especially the cakesssss

We finally got to try the traditional Red Velvet Cake which Thara recommended. No one else in sg has it!!

Honestly, I have NO idea wad the cake is made of… except that it has a cream cheese frosting…

But it tastes really great. I was kinda skeptical at 1st… but it really grows on u

It’s not too sweet, really firm and the cheese taste lingers on pretty well… Yummy, again!

And btw, they don’t even charge svs charge and GST! But we made a little contribution to the 2 piggies

We left the place feeling really satisfied, gastronomically and psychologically

Had a slow little walk ard Bugis, all the time to ourselves, while we wait for our late night movie…

Fourteen (+ Wala Trip)

I’m super super tired now… But still wanna finish my post on our 14th monthsary and my long-awaited wala trip b4 I retire

Aft school, we sent his mum’s ironing system dwn to International Rd for repair b4 heading str to Holland V.

And had our din at a cosy looking Italian restaurant, Amici Vicolo.

It’s tucked in a quiet little corner of Holland V, s’whr near Sushi Tei…

The place is really sweet and has a lovely ambience… But I wished we din sit so near their semi-open kitchen -_- Too many waiters, too much smell, too much activities gng on…

Service was generally good, but I din quite like this particular waiter (I think he’s like a crew manager or sth) who kept trying to make us order wine, and kinda gave the “huh” look when we din (since we’ll need to drink ltr at Wala…)

But for wine-lovers, they have a pretty extensive wine-list Well… den again, it’s an Italian restaurant…

Food is LOVELY.

The bread was crispy but soft, went really well with the olive oil and vinegar.

The raw beef slices in the appetizer did not have any bloody taste, and the texture of it went perfectly with the crunchy vege (they shld leave out the celery though).

The soup is amazingly rich for a vegetable soup!

The ingredients used in my Crayfish Seafood Linguine is F.R.E.S.H! The prawns were so crunchy~!!

And Dar’s squid ink pasta was (to my surprise) really really tasty…. And it smelt really awesome too

**We’re trying to show off our ink-stained teeth and lips… Apparently not very obv in the pic… but this dish is definitely not the best choice for a 1st date~!!**

We really wanted to try the escargot, but they came in a Doz… and we were really full by then…

One irritating thing abt this restaurant… Their utensils are squarish in shape… And not to mention HEAVY too…

U noe how frustrating I was, trying to twirl my pasta rnd n rnd w the stupid squarish fork? VERY.

Anw, the bill came up to ard $80, but w UOB card’s 10% disc, it was ard $72…

I guess more or less wad we expected for a decent Italian meal in a lovely restaurant…

Dar wanna come bk again s’day

Aft dat we went to the Pet shop to buy some of Boy Boy’s stuff and spent ages there looking at the pups they have SO CUTE LAH~!! The small little Maltese are soooooo cute and even more hyper then BoyBoy… One was even hopping ard a ball like a lamb…

We’re done w errands by 8 and went for some sweet touch at Cold Rock.

Dar’s concoction: Dark Choc Ice Cream + Ferrero Ice Cream + Kit Kat + Oreo

I LOVE~!!

Satisfies any choco cravings

Finally left for Wala sometime close to 9…

The previous band was still playing… And the there were only 5 tables left…

The guys had lovely voices, but not too engaging…

And we had to book plc for the others who were coming… (And were late)

That was everyone Well… almost…

And because we got the front-row seats this time rnd, we not only got to hear, but we also got to SEE the band’s superb skills with their instruments… Everyone drools over the drummer (Brandon) coz he’s really cool with the drums… but the electric guitarist (Rene?) was awesome too…. damn cool!

Well of coz, dar got his Sweet Child of Mine request (as usual…) and it was GREAT (as usual too)

Aft their last song ard 1am, we finally left wala and ended our day

The night b4, we were wondering whr to go 4 our 13 mth, since it falls so nicely on a tuesday, whr we’re both free aft 10am…

And Dar just popped out, “Cafe del Mar?”

I went, “Uhhhh?!”

But it was a gr8 idea… coz I’m still quite grundgy that we missed it when we went for our Sentosa chalet last yr…

And the weather was amazingly great!

del Mar del Mar, here we come~!!

We had lunchie dere. Coz it’s alrdy ard 2pm when we reached dere…

The food is really not bad, but I can’t finish my “fatty-chinny”, so Dar had to clear it for me… Ambience is awesome, minus the lil buggies zooming ard, and service is not too bad…

But not v kind on the wallet (nvm… not my wallet, hurhur )

Aft enjoying the breezy breeze at our table, we went back to the car to grab our shower stuff n get ready for the beach~!

We went back to del Mar coz we were sooooo tempted by the sun-bed and the sun-couches by the beach. And they have complete shower facilities too

We plunged into a pink sun-couch and hmmmmmm…. enjoy the lovely view….

We got ourselves 2 lovely cocktails…

But the buggies were still pretty persistent -_-

So we had to finish them up pretty fast..

It’s really amazing to have the sun, sand and sea right at ur feet, and the one u love right beside you

The weather was really really great… It was abit cloudy, such dat u can look directly at the sun… A lil breezy and a lil warm… And the splashing sea with the trance music in the backgrd were so hypnotic dat we were both close to snoozing off at several occasions..

But aft a while, the clouds dispersed and the SUN popped out. Blazingly…

I slapped on my SPF50 at top speed. (And Dar, his Banana Boat)… I dun wanna be 烧猪 man….

It got so unbearably hot dat we went splashing in the pool…

So tempted to go sit at the pool-bar… but I dun feel like having another drink -_-

Anw we were the only ppl in the pool.. so it was like our private pool… nice

Aft a quick shower, we’re ready to leave the lovely place…

We ordered diff side-dishes to go w the chicken chop fried rice..

The servings are pretty sml, just nice for 2 ppl, so we can try several dishes w/o feeling the bloat

Food is generally not bad, not amazing (like the pork knuckle), but considering the price, it’s really not bad

We got our bottles at Vivo…

And a white cover for my Touch

And I really enjoyed myself today….

Anniversary turned out to be almost like nth we planned.

Hospital visits, lunch w my family, dinner at Dar’s hm, NDP on TV with his mum, BBB, BBQ at Raggers chalet, a junior who recognised CHAOS, gossips, missing slippers, slp over, stationery shopping, steamboat at his hm, super swt gelato dark choc w M&M’s.

And our fav late night heart to heart chat

We wanted it simple…

With some twist and turns in b/w though…

For these wonderful 12 mths tgt, I thank God for every single day that we’re tgt.

The 1st Valentine’s…

Had a busy week aft CNY preparing for Vday prez…

No fancy gifts, no expensive items, just a simple little thing made from love and patience…

That’s the thing I’ve been working hard on…

It’s a gift I’ve been trying to make but NEVER ever managed to complete…

But this time, I am so determined to do it

It’s not gorgeous, hope he dun mind and will use it during his IFG…

But it’s abit fragile though =p

We met at 9am in the morng for school.

Then I came back and got surprised by a bunch of…

My 6-8 lect was Stats 2 and the lecturer was quite understandg…

“I noe since the 1st day I took this time-slot dat it’s quite a bad timing for a stats lecture… But today, I feel even worse.. coz it’s a 6-8pm stats lecture on Valentine’s Day. So I’m going to make this lecture as short as possible.”

He ended at 7.30pm.

Both of us had no idea whr to go for dinner, the place was intro-ed by Wei Juan.

We drove and drove and drove,

His tank was sooooo close to empty,

There was no petrol stn ard,

And the plc is super ulu~!!

But we made it and ended up at Sembawang Yatch Club.

The plc is sooo ulu, but sooo popular that u nd to make reservation for zi char…

We had the seat nxt to the waters.

And it’s freaking cold -_-

The ambience was nice though…

They even have a guy singing love songs…

Love songs, Sea, Breeze, Food, Dardar…

And we even caught a series of fireworks!!

The food came pretty late, and it wasn’t as fantastic as we tot it’ll be..

But nicely presented…

Maybe it’s due to the overwhelming crowd on vday, so abit sub-standard…

(There was no meat coz I’m on a ‘meat-fast’ for Crusade’s Engage Week)

We drove SLOWLY back to my house aft dat and finally top-ed up his baby car at amk…

Heng ah… dun have to push car -_-

And we had our gift exchange at our ‘secret carpark’

He gave me sth dat I got so touched I almost wanted to cry…

It’s a scrap-book detailing our r/ship from the very start of us “knowing” each other…

There were some photos deliberately left out and I had to guess the photo that was supposed to be pasted on the numbers…

Happy Birthday Singapore~!!

This year’s NDP was amazing… although I din get to watch the parade itself. But we saw the line-up of everything from land to sea to sky. It was really one-of-a-kind.

With the wonderful scenery at Esplanade and the no. of ppl dere decked in red and white, woww… The feeling was gr8 man…

Makes u feel like shouting: “I love you Sinagpore!” haha.

And I like those lighted bobs floating on top of the river… so nice…

But I was really tired dat day… had dance on wed from like… 1-6pm and a show in the eveng aft dat… So we had to keep me awake by takin photos (im easily entertained). And now i realise we took abit too much. abit lah. haha =x

The best part of the whole parade had to be the fireworks…

More than 15mins worth of it.

It just makes you go “wow”. A really unforgettable sight =)

It’s the place I’ve been wanting to go since I noe of it from Sweets for my Sweet.

But it’s a really really nice place. It’s easily a 4.9/5 simply for all the sweet (bitter) chocs-y stuff dey haf there and the wonderful ambience =D

Im willing to b drowned in chocs man!! (Dark chocs preferred. And not too hot =] )

We took a walk along the River aft dat.

A leisure stroll along the bay is really nice on a sunny breezy aftnn, life feels like a HOLIDAY~!

We saw the merlion, the old abandoned pier, two guys testing the water, the little rubbish boat, ‘lollipops’ beside the ‘durian’, one-line art pcs in the esplanade, … …

Special lil things in life dat we wun notice if we dun slow down our pace to look ard.

Not b4 too long, we had dinner. Yahh.. it’s all abt food.. haha

Had a sweet lunch, and a salty dinner.

Note the shin salts they haf!! Green tea salt, Sour plum salt, Chilli salt =|

Their skewers are the must try, and rmb to juz order n share a bowl of rice 1st. BIG serving.

My ultimate take-away from dis outing is the reminder dat we sld really slow down in alot of things that we do. We rush thru and rush into things too fast and easy, it’s good to take things slow, so dat we can see things dat we’ve never noticed b4. =]
